Meet Stacey…Beating Plateaus
My name is Stacey Messing. I am a wife and mother of 2 children (two dogs (Sheltie and Scottish Terrier). I work as an occupational therapist with both children and adults and enjoy the outdoors, photography, and especially fitness-my favorite is road biking. After the birth of my second child in 2006, I began walking and started weight watchers. After 7 months I had lost 45 pounds. I then joined a gym and increased my exercise routine but four years later found nothing had significantly changed. I had tried changing my workouts, eating more eating less, increasing my carbs decreasing my carbs, and anything else anyone recommended.
In April 2012 I was introduced to Angie’s Way after asking a friend of mine what she was doing to create the changes that I was seeing in her body. That very day I contacted Angie and by a week or 2 later had my consultation and after one more week I had my meal plan and was ready to go! In just a few short weeks after starting with Angie’s Way the plateau was beaten!! My goal of losing 10 # was surpassed, I was being referred to as ‘small’ and every week I was seeing something else change! Overall, I was able to drop more than one size and 14.5# in just 6 weeks. The continued commitment to the lifestyle has been amazing and changes continued long after the 6 weeks…I have embraced the lifestyle and no longer know how to live any other way!
Last summer (2013) I took a stab at competition prep, which proved too challenging to pursue at this stage in my life, however the changes that I was able to achieve through this level of discipline were so satisfying!! I continue to learn and change and yes, struggle at times, but Angie is always there to support and tweak and provide what is needed. I am actively involved with Angie’s Way and so dedicated to the lifestyle, that I have compiled nearly every recipe endorsed by Angie which proves to be an ongoing project as she is continuously providing new and exciting things to entice clean eating. The opportunity to have met and be involved with Angie and all she stands for, she says, is truly an honor.
Meet Marianne…FIT AT 50!
I have always struggled with my weight as so many people have in their lives. The turning point for me was when I went to high school and really wanted a lead role in the musical, and in so many words was told I had the talent but would not get a lead role unless I lost weight. That put me on my mission to be in shape and stay in shape.
I began an excercise routine and began eating healthy. It almost became an obsession in my life. There were points in college, when I was eating 500 calories a day. A huge mistake I know! I kept at a reasonable weight for most of my adult life in whatever way I could. I tried to educate myself as much as I could and always excercised. Leading up to my 50 birthday, I was feeling fatigued, having hot flashes, palpitations, and all the other great symptoms of menapause. I thought to myself, this is what I heard would happen and I thought I would need to deal with it. However, I did not want to become what everyone else my age was becoming. I was going to fight every step of the way!
I had followed a friend Tammy, as a fitness competitor and she spoke of her coach so highly. She indicated what great knowledge she had and how she had finally found the person that would help her toward her goals. I deperately wanted to feel and look better. I was eating and exercising the same way I had thoughout my whole life, but I was not getting the same results. In fact, I felt I was not getting any results. I was gaining weight!!! The one thing I had tried to keep from doing my whole life. Granted some means of doing that were better than others, but I did see what I thought were results.
I have always been a disciplined, and committed person, and I was committed to not be a fat, unhealthy 50 year old woman. I decided to see what Angie could do for me. As you can see from the pictures, her plans work. She individually works with you throughout the journey. She answers your questions, she is caring and warm. I feel as though I have made a great friend in Angie. She has been beside me every step of the way. If you know me, I am a humble person, and I do not write this testimonial to brag, but to show you that with work, dedication, and guidance you can be healthy. I feel great, and I feel as though I am in the best shape of my life. at 51. I started my journey 8 months ago, and my body is strong, and still changing. I am proud of body for the first time in my life! Angie has helped me get there. I now have the “true” knowledge that I never had ,and thought I did. I now realize that eating (imagine that) makes you body lean! Eating real food makes you strong and vibrant. I am fighting for me!!! I look forward to continuing the journey of health and well being. I am “Fit at 50!!!
Although I am only about 12 weeks into my program with Angie, this journey so far has been nothing less than amazing.
As a busy, full-time working mom of two young children (ages 8 and 3), I thought my physical activity of logging miles of running would get me close to my pre-baby body. Two years after my son was born, my body still had not bounced back into shape, especially around my mid-section. I became frustrated and discouraged, but didn’t want to give up. After experiencing night after night of belly aches and digestive problems, I knew I had to do something about my nutrition. For me, it was more about overall health rather than a svelte body. Angie’s Way was recommended to me and I knew I had to give it a try.
All I can say is WOW!! A few weeks into my program I noticed changes immediately around my back and mid-section. I also felt better than I had in years, all because of the food I was putting in my body. I was sleeping better, my digestive track was in sync, I had more energy throughout the day (I was no longer hitting that 3pm wall), and my overall running performance was at an all-time high. Angie’s Way has been the best thing I could have done for myself. I really am in a much better place, thanks to Angie and her team. I also love the fact that my kids would rather eat a rice cake with almond butter and berries rather than cheese curls!
I’m looking forward to continuing my journey with Angie’s Way!!
In less than 1 years time, I transformed my body of 2 children and 2 c-sections into a stage ready machine. Angie gave me the unending support and knowledge needed to attain my goal. I can’t say I would compete again, but I do know one thing… without her I would never have gotten to where I am today. And furthermore – living a clean and healthy lifestyle for myself and family. Where ever you’re coming from, your wellness goals, your age, what have you…. Angie can get you there!
